The Most Beautiful Beaches on Krk Island

Zala beach

You'll discover plenty of small bays with picturesque pebble beaches along the coastline. The larger ones are conveniently located near the village and can be accessed by car or foot. The closest beach is only a three-minute walk from the house at a distance of 150 meters. While some beaches are more secluded and can only be reached by boat, others are easily visible. There's a beach that caters to everyone's preferences. If you're seeking a peaceful and romantic spot, there are beaches below the village. On the other hand, if you desire more action and amenities, you can check out the Zala beach, Oprna beach, or the beach in Kamp Škrila.

When you're staying in Stara Baška, one of the most exciting things you can do is go on a kayaking or stand up paddling adventure to discover secluded beaches and coves. It's the perfect way to spend a day on the water while enjoying the peacefulness of your surroundings. I personally love exploring the area in search of a small, secluded spot where I can relax and enjoy some privacy. All you need to bring with you is some water, sunscreen, and snacks, and you can spend the whole day feeling like Robinson Crusoe.

ZALA BEACH

I am a big fan of the beach, mainly because I enjoy taking a dip in the refreshing water during the scorching summer months. What's great about this particular beach is that it's surrounded by fresh water springs from the mountain, providing an even cooler experience. As it becomes more popular each year, I suggest planning your visit during the off-peak season to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are plenty of vendors selling cold beverages and delightful ice cream to help you cool down even more.

OPRNA BEACH

The beach I'm talking about is quite renowned on Krk Island, but it's not the easiest to access. Personally, I enjoy paddling on a stand-up board or kayak to get there, but others usually trek through a rocky terrain. It's definitely not a walk in the park, but the destination is worth it.

SURBOVA BEACH

This village beach is a real gem, but not everyone knows about it yet. It's a bit of a trek to get there, but the effort is worth it for the breathtaking views of the southern islands. It's like the sister beach to Zala and if you explore a bit further, you'll discover some smaller beaches. Just pack your beach gear and a comfy pair of shoes, and you're all set to have an amazing day.

GOLDEN BEACH

This particular beach is undoubtedly one of the most stunning ones out there, but there's a catch - you can only get there by boat. If you're planning on visiting, make sure to set your alarm early and head out in the morning so you can see the sun cast its golden glow on the towering cliffs above the beach. It's a hot spot for beachgoers who enjoy spending their day hopping from one sandy spot to the next.

ŠKRILA BEACH

Škrila beach is situated in the campsite area, however, it can be accessed by non-campers too. This stunning beach offers rental services for deck chairs, parasols, SUPs, and kayaks. You can also enjoy a refreshing drink at the beach bar, where the boss is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We have planned to visit the bar in the morning to grab a delicious croissant and a decent cup of coffee.

BEACHES BELOW THE HOUSES IN THE VILLAGE

The village boasts of many secluded beaches that are known only to the locals and their visitors. These beaches are free from the hustle and bustle of tourists as there is no provision for day parking. You can navigate your way through various paths and staircases to reach the sea. With a little exploration, you can easily discover the ideal spot to bask in the sun and enjoy the serene surroundings.
