Every year many people visit our charming village, and we are delighted when people love it and share it via travel blogs.

long the coast you will find numerous little bays with beautiful pebble beaches. The larger ones are located near the village. They are easy to find and reached by car or on foot. The closest beach is 150 m from the house and can be reached in 3 minutes on foot. Some of them are well hidden and reached just by the boat, and some are just in front of your eyes. There is something for everyone. Below the village there are beaches for peace lovers and romantic moments. If you are bored and want a little more life and infrastructure, you can visit Zala beach, Oprna beach or the beach in Kamp Škrila. Hidden beaches reached by sea One of the best things about staying in Stara Baška is the opportunity to explore hidden beaches and coves while paddling. Kayaking or stand up paddling are the best options to spend a day on the water. I just love cruising around in search of a little piece of pebble land that offers lots of privacy. Just pack some water, sunscreen and a snack and you can spend the whole day as Robinson Cruiso. Beach Zala Why do I like the beach? Because I like cooler water during the hot summer months. There are fresh water springs from the mountain, so it really cools you down when the temperatures are high. It gets more popular every year because it's very easy to get to, so the best time to visit the beach is outside of peak season. You can also buy cold drinks and ice cream. Beach Oprna This is one of the most famous beaches on Krk Island, but at the same time one of the most inaccessible beaches on the island. I love to go there by stand up paddling board or kayak. But most people come from all over the island and have to walk down through a karst landscape. Beach Surbova This beach is a hidden jewel of the village. It has not yet been discovered by many people because it takes a little more effort to reach it. The bay offers spectacular views of the southern islands. It can be called a sister of Zala beach. If you go a little further, you will find a few more smaller beaches. All you need is a good pair of shoes and a complete beach equipment to enjoy the day. Golden bay One of the most beautiful beaches, but you can only reach it by boat. The best time to visit the beach is early in the morning, when the sun begins to turn the vertical cliffs above the beach golden. It is a very popular place for day beach hopping. Beach Škrila Škrila beach is located within the campsite, but it is also accessible to non-camping guests. This is a beautiful beach where you can rent a deck chair with a parasol as well as a SUP or a kayak. There is a very nice beach bar with a great boss who makes you feel welcome. It's on our to-do list to stop by there in the morning for a decent coffee and croissant. Beaches below the houses in the village There are many beaches below the houses that are only visited by locals and their guests, as there is no parking for a day visitor. This means that the beaches are never crowded. Numerous paths and stairs lead to the sea and you just have to look around a bit and you will easily find the perfect spot. If you are ready for more than just beacehes and nauture, you can explore the island of Krk. Here are a few activities that are on my bucket list.
